Do and Don’t when selling with Sell My App

Sell My App is a market place and a community that serves buyers and app developers all around the world. Many developers from dozens of countries make a living with Sell My App.

In order to keep the marketplace fair and thriving for everyone here is a list of DO and DON’T DO in order to keep the best results of the partnership with us and of course the well being of the marketplace and the developer community.

Great Things you should do:

  1. Provide amazingly fast support – when you respond fast to any question, even if it’s just “let me check and get back to you”, you will see how people trust you more and buy more from you. communication is one of the most important aspects of forming trust with buyers.

  2. Create great codes – you can follow top authors on the marketplace and track their codes. most of them will have constant updates and improvements, they will also often work with buyer feedback to improve their codes and make them better. Buyers appreciate this sort of activity and it leads to more sales.

  3. Invest in documentation – most buyers are first time buyers or have low experience with apps or frameworks such as unity. creating a very detailed guide on how to control and work with the code as well as how to reskin all elements, add levels and implement monetization will lead to happy clients that keep coming back to your releases. Here is a link to a great example of documentation

  4. Follow trends on the top charts – You can follow trends to find out which style of games are the most popular in the time you are starting to work on your project. You can find out which style of games suits you and pursue that path.

Bad things you shouldn’t do

  1. Infringe copyrights of popular publishers on the appstores – Since Many authors are not sure about the definitions of what infringing copyrights mean. we created here a list of all types of practices that are considered as copyright infringement:

DO NOT

a. use original game names in your game title , description, splash screen – This also means don’t add a third word to your game name thinking that you are fine

Example: let’s assume the game name is Wild Cows – don’t call your game Wild cows chase thinking that it won’t infringe copyrights – Use a different name for your game or your app will be removed.

DO NOT

b. use the same description text of another publisher from our marketplace or from publishers on the appstores – Your app will be removed.

DO NOT

c. Use original graphics from another publisher in your game , screenshots, featured images, thumbnail – Any graphics that look the same like the original game are an infringement. Use graphics of your own. many authors enhance a certain style of game and come up with a better original game with original graphics. do the same – fail to follow this guideline and your app will be removed.

DO NOT

c. Unzip APK files of other publishers on the appstores or on the sell my app marketplace and use any assets from them – Using assets of other developers are a copyright infringement. may it be from a top publisher or a seller on sell my app in both cases your items will be removed from the marketplace – Your app will be removed.

DO NOT

d. Provoke disputes with other developers on the marketplace in the public comments section – attacking and arguing with other developers in the public comments section is bad for you, it’s bad for the author and it’s bad for the entire community. If you have an issue contact our support and we will assist you with your issues.

DO NOT

e. hack source codes of other publishers on our marketplace or the appstores – Even though technically it’s a difficult task to be able to re-engineer scripts from another publisher. some people are capable of doing so. In case you are found to actually hack complete codes including scripts 100% our team will be able to identify it. – Your account will be terminated and you will not be able to work with us.

Final words

our team is working hard to provide a safe and fair experience to all buyers and sellers on Sell My App. Follow the guidelines to ensure a healthy relationship with our team and help keeping Sell My App as a thriving and fair platform for all publishers.
